Bayou On Fire
When the old courthouse in Plaquemine Parish caught fire there was a dead body found in one of the offices and newly promoted Detective Ginger Walker was assigned to investigate. The fire was proved to be arson and the dead body was that of a judge's clerk. When the autopsy was performed, it was discovered that Haik, the clerk, died before the fire from an injection of heroin and strychnine. As the investigation continued, Walker discovered ties between Scolone, a corrupt attorney, Karen a high priced call girl, Brady, a sheriff's deputy and Haik. She needed to connect the dots to prove who Haik's killer was and the motive. Moulton has written an easy to read mystery that will keep you turning the pages. 3 Stars
