Jarvis Mann, a down on his luck private investigator, gets a call from a potential client. Emily White wants to hire him because she's being stalked, and Jarvis is happy to have the job. She suspects her ex-husband because he's done it before and so starts the story. As the plot expands, Jarvis meets some seedy characters and a possible long-term love interest during the investigation, but danger is lurking close by. Opus, a dog that Emily is watching for her neighbor is stabbed to death and Rickie, a stalking suspect is beaten to death to add to the mystery. But true to his potential, Jarvis is able to solve the case, much to Emily's chagrin. If you like an easy to read, action-packed detective story, this one is for you. 4 Stars
