The Last Refuge

Journalist Peter Brandt gets an assignment to investigate a friendly fire incident in Iraq. Susan Stanning, the wife of a civilian killed, files suit against the government and ConEl, a contractor for covering it up. The deeper Peter digs, the more pressure is applied for him to stop. Finally, Peter's given a report that spells out what really happened. With the help of Joanne Rice, an officer who survived the incident, they confront Colonel Sherman, the man responsible for the incident and reveal an off the books covert operation. Suddenly, a laid-off engineer of ConEl goes berserk at the contractor's office and starts killing people including Sherman. When the government decides to bury Sherman, the traitor, as a hero, Rice steps in. 4 Stars
